my brother recently sent me an xbox from USA but the problem is the power supply.there the power supply is 110v but where i live the power supply is 220-240v so i used a 220-110 converter for some time but the problem is that it overheats and blows up in about half an hour,i have tried 6 till now with the same effect.i have the xbox pro and the power brick that came with it is 175w i have tried converters uptill a 1000w but it doesnt make any difference so i was wondering if i buy a 220-240v power brick from here and play the xbox on it would it damage the xbox? i want to be EXTREMELY sure before i try it.and if it will work is there any specific that i need to keep in mind while buying that power brick like the wattage or anything else.

  1. Yes, you can just by a 220/240V power brick, as long as it outputs the same 175W as the 110V power brick you have now.

That’s really all Microsoft does — all the 360s are the same (more or less) and they just give you either a 110/120V or a 220/240V power brick depending on what country you’re in.

  2. A US brick has an Input of 110V and Output 175W

A UK/European brick has an Input of 220-240V and Output 175W

So as long as the county’s power supply is the same as the input of the brick the Xbox will work fine.

Even if you connect a 110V brick into a 220V power supply you will burn the brick, not the console.

  3. IF YOUR IN EUROPE OR USA THEN YEAH IT WILL WORK BUT IF YOUR IN JAPAN IT WONT BUT IF IT OVERHEATS AND EXPODES NO I WOULDNT TRY IT
