One day that i was playing my PS3 and all of the sudden it turned off on me. Then when i tried to turn it back on it would beep once as if it was going to turn on, but then in one or two more seconds it beeps like three more times and it just wont turn on. I can’t eject my game either because it wont do so. Do you know what is wrong with it?

  1. Your PS3 has some form of hardware problem and is in need of repair. Whether or not its YLOD is another issue (you don’t specify seeing a Yellow Light and YLOD is not always the reason for this).

As for getting the game out, you could try the “force eject” by holding the eject button for 10-15 seconds.

  2. most likely you have seen the yellow light and it now needs repairs to work again. You should have seen a yellow light slighlty when turning it on. If there isnt a yellow light and its just flashing red then it means it has overheated and you need to wait untill tomorrow to turn it back on.

  3. Okay this might fix it. This works for black screen. What you do is you hold the power button it should try to turn on and then turn back off, keep holding it and it will try to turn on another time. wait a bit and it should beep about 2 or 3 times then let go, and something should come up on the screen. You’ll have to restore the ps3.

  4. I’m very sorry to tell you this, but your PS3 has the YLOD (yellow light of death), you probably have the 60GB edition? I had the same problem.

If you still have the warranty, you can get a new one, call costumer support for more info.

  5. i had exactly the same problem the other day, with my 60gb ps3, turned off, then goes to turn on, goes yellow quickly, then turns off, and flashes red, and i cant do the force eject, as it just turns straight off.

im afraid like the other people have said, its a hardware problem.

there are guides to diy fix it yourself, but you need heatgun etc

best bet, either if its in warranty, send it in for repair, if not, you can maybes pay to get it repaired, sony do this for about £120, others differ.

or sell it on ebay, youl still make money

loads of ps3s seem to have this issue, im getting a replacement sent out, but worried about it doing the same
