Why is my PS3 Wi-Fi connection not working?

I’m pretty technologically inept, but this is what my Settings and Connection Status List looks like:

Internet Connection : Enabled

Connection Method : Wireless

Signal Strength : Not Connected

SSID : [my SSID here]

Channel : –

Security : WPA-PSK (TKIP)

WPA Key : [my WPA key here]

Address Settings : Automatic

IP Address : Automatic

Subnet Mask : Automatic

Default Router : Automatic

Primary DNS : Automatic

Secondary DNS : Automatic

MAC Address : [my MAC address here]

MTU : Automatic

Proxy Server : Do Not Use

UPnP : Enabled

My wireless Internet works for all the rest of the laptops and computers in my house, just not for my PS3. The PS3 is only a few feet away from the router, with no interference. Can anyone explain why it’s not working?

Thank you!

  1. In Signal Strength it says: “Not Connected”

Try doing the setup of the connection again.

If not, try a Wired connection with an Ethernet cable.

    Edit: Sorry.

Have you tried unplugging your router and plugging it back in after 30 seconds?

  2. I had the same problem all you have to do is find your Internets IP address, subnet mask default router/gateway primary DNS and secondary DNS if doesnt work check your Internets firewall and put it to WEP Sharing

  3. You have to make the signal stronger by putting it a little clorser or moving the router next to the PS3. I dont own one so this is only a guess.
