  1. I found this game annoyingly difficult in some point. And its too bad indeed that you cant choose your character. It could have been better but its not all that bad in my opinion, except for difficulty level

  2. the character redesign of the female character look shit like the ones in sonic boom

  3. All Golden Axe games are based in in the land of Yuria. Why did Sega not make us pick what characterb we wanted in this game? Why take away axe-wielding dwarf, Gilius Thunderhead, the barbarian, Ax Battler, wielding a two-handed broadsword, and longsword-wielding amazon Tyris Flare. This game would have been a lot better if we could pick between the original THREE and not be forced to just use Tyris Flare. I never played with her character in the classic Golden Axe games.

  4. This game is great don't understand the hate. The classic games were about the same walk, swing weapon, ride beast, beat boss and repeat. Two player co op is the only thing I feel it needs. To me a game is something you can have fun for what it is, this case beat me up. If u want to add elements of fucking standing there and take turns hitting and solving calculus problems and watching a group of guys take on wizards play a damn RPG and stfu.

  5. I feel like there would have been chances to play as the other characters if Beast Rider had sold better, encouraging sequels. They were probably going to have a game for each character.

Sucks that no one liked this; I rather enjoyed it.

"If you're just looking for some quick fun with blood, fire and amazon women only wearing leather bikinis…"

Um did this guy ever play the first one? It was a scrolling hack-n-slash – of course it was only quick fun with blood and fire and Tyris was just as scantily clad back then as she is now. I feel like, for the sake of nostalgia, people are remembering the originals as better than they were.

Don't get me wrong! Loved the original two but this was good too.

  6. I hate that you are given one character, I just hope that the developers realized that you can play more than one character to tell a story, if done well.

  7. Let's face it: the original trilogy was also repetitive, just like many other retro beat'em ups which are still praised just because of nostalgia.

  8. Tyris Flare went from a tough adult warrior woman… to a cliché little redhead girl…

  9. no choice of characters a disgrace to the series. what could've made this game better bring back choice of the other fighters and give each a different story arc but at least they added gore which didnt really exsist back then. combat was repetative in the original but this is the modern era and we have the tech that should've pushed this series further
