My Xbox Live connection keeps dropping randomly, only to be able to reconnect seconds later.?

Ok, so as the ‘question’ says, I’ve been having problems with Xbox Live recently. It only seems to happen while playing new games such as Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty: World at War, Halo 3: ODST – and weirdly – Fable 2.

Basically, my connection is set up using the wireless adapter plugged into my console, connecting to a Philips SNA6500 router, my ISP is AOL. The important thing to note is that the internet connection itself remains unchanged. I’m not losing wireless signal, and my connection to the internet itself is also fine. I.e. I can remain browsing web pages or streaming videos/downloading music off itunes on the PC.

If anyone has any suggestions, they would all be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

  1. Mine kept doing that and it was so annoying, all i did was move it closer and it worked. My sister hogs all of the connection

  2. Is somebody else online in your house? Ever since I used my wireless, that happens to me when my fiance gets online.

  3. This may be completely of the wall random but when it happens doesn’t your phone ring right before during or after this happens. if it does the your phone is on the same frequency as your xbox and it will keep doing this until you get new phone.

  4. well ive found that if ive got my comp on at the same time and im doing stuff on the comp it lowers my signal strength for some reason and it also depends on whos the host in the game is
