Nicknamed “The Monster”, as evidenced by its name, because of its agility, power, and bite on snow, without sacrificing other aspects that make a good ski. Head decided to further upgrade “The Monster” and thus the Monster iM 82 was born.
Given a new technology called Head Aircoat Hollow Glass Technology, it further improves its agility and bite than the previous model. As an added bonus, it weighs less than the previous Monster.
The Monster iM 82 SW Skis, with the measurements of 122mm / 82mm / 108mm (tip / waist / tail), and is available in 150cm to 183cm length. It has a turn radius of 17.7m at 172cm length. It is built with sandwich construction and incorporates several technologies such as Intelligence technology, which uses Intellifibers that can be placed in front of the binding, to give the board extra rigidity to withstand force and hard falls, and Liquidmetal technology, to retain rebound and maintain consistent flex no matter how many seasons you may ski on it. The base is made from Structured UHM C, which gives the board extra agility and provides speed, while maintaining control and performance. The sidewalls are now fully-reinforced giving the board a burly build. The Bindings are sold separately, but Head recommends pairing it with the Head LD 12 Wide Br Bindings for maximum comfort and performance.
The Monster iM 82 SW Ski is also versatile, as it can traverse through hard pack snow conditions, and can provide a smooth ride on powder snow conditions. It travels fast to super fast depending on the snow condition.
This board is recommended only for expert-level skiers, as beginners and intermediate-levels might not be able to handle its agility and speed.
