Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

This is Rossignol’s new take on the all-mountain scene, the Rossignol Men’s Avenger 82 Carbon Ski. The Avenger 82 Carbon is recommended for expert skiers who are looking for that ideal ski, one that is both good in carving and skiing in powder conditions.

The Avenger 82 Carbon Ski, with sidecut measurements of 128mm / 82mm / 112mm (tip / waist / tail), and is available on different sizes: 162cm, 170cm, 177cm, and 182cm. The board has a turn radius of 17.8m at 177cm size. It is made with a Sandwich structure built with wood, Microcell cores, fiberglass, and high-tech laminates, increasing the board’s durability and aids rebound. Its sidewalls are made from the same materials, further improving edge power transfer. The core is made from a mix of Wood and Carbon materials, giving the board extra stability by being responsive to the user’s actions. Shock absorption is handled by the Internal VAS (Vibration Absorbing System), giving it greater control, stability, and contact with the snow. The Axium 120 Bindings that come with the board also has its own VAS incorporated in it. This lessens the frequency of foot sores and injuries.

Like other boards of the Rossignol Company, there are several technologies incorporated within this board. First is the OVERSIZE Technology that combines the idea of two ski types: carving skis with large sidecut, and wide-waisted freeride skis. Combining the advantages of these two, it allows the skier to perform better by giving the board a huge upgrade in all aspects; speed, balance, manageability, and maneuverability. Its Bindings, the Axium 120, is also built-in with the same technology used in the Zenith line, TPI2 or Twin Pulsion Integral 2, which allows tool-free adjustment of the bindings, making the board more versatile than other boards. Simply slide the bindings into the control beam, and you’re ready to go!

Another technology used in making this board is the Wood Core construction. As mentioned before, it provides extra stability and makes the board more responsive.

Reviews on this board are very, very positive. It is praised for its durability, good carving ability, responsiveness, and good grip. Its sidewalls are also praised, as compared to other boards, its edge grip and stability is top-par. Aesthetically, the board looks good too and somewhat represents aggressiveness, which is the main trait of the Avenger 82 Carbon Ski.
