Rossignol Men’s S5 Barras Skis

This is Rossignol’s graphic interpretation of one of the seven deadly sins: Greed. Because the Rossignol Men’s S5 Barras Skis conquers any condition and any terrain on any mountain. This board is recommended for expert jibbers who want to spend equal time on backcountry and terrain parks. If there’s one word to describe the S5, it’s versatile.

The Rossignol Men’s S5 Barras Skis is truly a masterpiece, both literally and figuratively. Literally, in the sense that the board has an artistic touch, with the board depicting a skier willing to do anything, even die to catch the diamond. Figuratively, because once you go out and try this for a ride, you will have to have this one. It is truly a representation of the word “greed”.

Its dimensions measuring at 128mm / 98mm / 121mm (tip / waist / tail), and is available in 171cm to 185cm length. It has a wide turn radius of 21.3m, obviously not recommended for narrow paths.

As said earlier, this board is very versatile. You don’t need to change its binding often, as it conquers any terrain with ease. Snow, crud, powdery, groomed, icy, or hard, name it, the S5 can take it. The S5 Barras incorporates a completely “New School” design but uses three different binding mounting points to match the skiers’ style. Whether your style is extreme freestyle, or modern freestyle, or even the traditional alpine style, all you need to do is to adjust the bindings and you’re all set! This is versatility at its finest.

The 30-degree slanting sidewalls on the S5 Barras not only improve the grip on hardpack, but also reduce the overall ski swing weight to help make pulling off big tricks easier than most jibbing skis. Rossignol also incorporated the same technology they used on the Zenith Oversize board, the scratch resistant Rossitop, to keep the board light and strong. The tips and tails are equipped with shock-absorbing Visco material, and a durable and lightweight THC2 hybrid core made from both poplar and fume-processed ash. The S5 Barras also features Rossignol’s Weight Reduction System (WRS), a patented core design that groups strands of fiber along the core and sidewalls so that everything is aligned with the ski’s sidecut shape. By using this design, it allows for more structural integrity in your feet, giving the board excellent control and maneuverability. Rossignol recommends their binding, the SAS2 Ti 140 Wide Ski Brake Binding for better and remarkable jibbing performance.

With its excellent design and versatility, it’s no wonder why this is named the KING of the “New School” of all mountain skis. This board is also endorsed and used by extreme skier Kye Petersen, and is very satisfied with this board. Almost all reviews are positive and there are no negative feedbacks for this board. Unfortunately, this has been long sold out on markets, but some are still available on some stores.
