The sixth board in Rossignol’s “Artistic Sins” collection, the Rossignol Men’s S6 Caballero Skis, is the graphical representation of one of the seven deadly sins, Anger. It’s recommended for powder snow conditions but can rip through groomers and act as an all-mountain twin in any snow depth, easily dominating almost anything.
Like the other boards in the “Artistic Sins” collection, the Rossignol Men’s S6 Caballero Skis is a work of art. The board itself is like a canvas, depicting a giant fish devouring everything in its path, and you will, too, once you go out and try this one. It will let you conquer any snow condition with ease.
Its sidecut measurements are 140mm / 110mm / 133mm (tip / waist / tail), almost 10% larger than its other “siblings”, and is available in 174cm and 185cm length. It has a wide turn radius of 21.3m.
As mentioned earlier, this board rips through powdered snow conditions with ease, as it is made for one. It can also catch big air, allowing you to do tricks if you’re into extreme freestyle skiing. The S6 Caballero Skis is can also be used on parks, and easily dominates the competition with its unique, wide-waist design. The S6 lacks the feature from its “siblings” where you can adjust the bindings’ mounting points to change your skiing style, but this one doesn’t need that as it can perform efficiently regardless of your skiing style.
The 30-degree slanting sidewalls used on the other boards are also implemented here, improving the board’s swing weight, therefore reducing its overall weight, resulting to enhanced edging ability and durability. This board also has the same technology used on the Rossignol Zenith line, the scratch-resistant ROSSITOP, which strengthens the top of the ski. This is especially useful for those hard impacts and landings. The tips and tails of the board are equipped with soft, flexing materials to improve balance and provide spring when mounting rails and riding on half-pipes. It is also equipped with shock-absorbing materials that makes the board more durable and stronger, to withstand impacts.
THC2 Hybrid core, made from poplar and fume-processed ash, gives the board superb damping characteristics, and also provides excellent ski-to-snow feel. The S6 Caballero also features Rossignol’s Weight Reduction System (WRS), a patented core design that groups strands of fiber along the core and sidewalls so that everything is aligned with the ski’s sidecut shape. Using this design, it allows for more structural integrity in your feet, giving the board excellent control and maneuverability. Bindings are not included in this board but Rossignol recommends using their binding, the Rossi Freeski2 150 XL / XXL Ski Binding, for better and remarkable performance.
Powerful, yet forgiving, this is what makes the S6 Caballero a good choice and a good addition to your collection. Speedy, agile, and unlike the deadly sin that it represents, it is quite “friendly”.
