All-terrain, all-mountain, and all-season, this best describes the new Rossignol Men’s Zenith Oversize Skis with TPI2 / Axial 2 120 Bindings. It can conquer all kinds of snow terrains, whether it may be icy, crud, powdered, or groomed, it can plow through those easily and with style.
The Rossignol Men’s Zenith Oversize Skis is a Men’s-only ski, with classic laminate construction, vertical sidewalls, snub nose tip, and a square tail. Inspired from WC racing skis, this board favors maximum performance but not sacrificing the other qualities that make a good board. This is built with a 70% front side and 30% back side measurement, which is useful for skiers who prefer front side skiing. It also includes a TPI2 (Twin Pulsion Integral 2) / Axial 2 120 Binding, that acts as a shock absorber and reduces foot injuries should the skier have a hard landing. This board also incorporates Dual Tech, which combines cap construction and the vertical sidewall construction into one concept, dramatically improving its rebound with its ROSSITOP cap. The sidewall material can also be changed to fit according to the user’s needs, changing the behavior of the ski, therefore, improving its carving and edging power. It also has IPS H or Independent Pressuring System, meaning the left / right pressure applications are independent from each other, thus optimizing the transmission of power by the boots to the ski edges to boost the board’s performance and comfort.
The Rossignol Men’s Zenith Oversize Skis is purposely oversized. This is because they combined the concepts of a wide-waisted freeride ski, which is versatile and speedy, and a carving ski, which focuses on precision and stability. With these traits combined, it offers extreme manageability and superb control. Its sidecut is also oversized, with the tip and the tail having the same measurements, and the waist width different from the latter two. This results in different behavior and larger turn radius.
Like other boards from the Zenith line, this board also has the VAS (Vibration Absorbing System), which, as the name implies, absorbs vibration from hard landings, preventing damage to the board as well as reducing foot injuries. The binding technology in this one, however, is different from other Zenith boards. While others incorporate the MUTIX binding technology, this uses AXIAL2 and AXIUM binding technologies, which enables tool-free changes to its bindings to suit the user’s needs. These technologies help to make the board much more durable than other skis, as well as make it more versatile.
The only gripe in this product is that it isn’t fast enough for those who want to feel and satisfy their need for speed. While it may be not as fast as the other Zenith series, this model excels in other departments like turn radius, versatility, and stability. It may not fill the need for speed of other skiers, but it is still a good board and is still one of the best boards available on the market.
This ski is recommended for intermediate to expert-level skiers only.
