Volkl Men’s Unlimited AC20 Skis w/ 3Motion 11.0 TC Bindings

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

One of the best downhill boards, the Volkl Men’s Unlimited AC20 Skis is one of the best boards the market has to offer, with its stability, flexibility, easy turning performance and great looks, and its ability to carve through powder and groomed snow conditions with ease, it is easily the best choice!

The sidecut measurements of the Unlimited AC20 Ski are measured at 118mm / 74mm / 103mm (tip / waist / tail). It is available on varying lengths, the smallest at 156cm, 163cm, 170cm, and the largest one, 177cm. For its large size, it has a rather small turn radius of 17.7m, which makes it ideal for narrow paths.

Every year, Volkl adds new technologies and improvements to the board to satisfy the customer’s needs, and this board is no exception, as they have made several changes to it, improving its performance and other aspects.

The core is still made from Sensorwood, and is CNC milled using vertically-laminated poplar and beech wood, but is improved further, giving the board the much-needed durability and rigidity, making it tougher than previous models. This unique design also provides intermediate-level skiers a stable board to hone and improve their skills. The tail is made straight, as it is purposely designed to hold the end of each turn longer. Developed from Race Skis technology, it allows the board to track and carve through snow with great ease.

A unique addition to this board is the Power Grip construction, which improves power transmission from the boots to the edges, giving you better edging ability and easier turning ability, even when going in extremely high speeds. The Bindings that comes with this board, the 3Motion 11.0 TC Bindings, with its 3Motion technology, complements the Power Grip in improving the power transmission, making the board more efficient than ever. It also gives the skier improved stability and maximum comfort.

This board is recommended for intermediate to expert-level skiers who tend to balance their time skiing on powder and groomed snow conditions. It can also adapt on other snow conditions, with minor, and barely noticeable, difference in its performance.

Reviews on this board are positive. One site even awards this as the best downhill ski that is available in the market today. They also said that once you use this board, you will never want to use any other board again.
